\n25 June 2026 \u2013 The Hospitality Automation Summit (HOSAS) 2026<\/a>, organised by the
\nMalaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MyBHA\u00ae)<\/a> and co-organised with
\nthe Malaysia PropTech Association (MPA)<\/a> and Vendfun Sdn. Bhd.<\/a>, concluded
\nsuccessfully \u00a0at Kingston Hotel 10, Bukit
\nJalil, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together hotel owners,hotel operators, industry
\nleaders, technology providers, government representatives and innovators to
\ndiscuss the future of hospitality automation and digital transformation in
\nMalays<\/p>\n

The summit was officially officiated by
\nYBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, Secretary-General of the Ministry of
\nTourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), reflecting the Government’s
\ncontinued support towards strengthening innovation, productivity and
\ncompetitiveness within Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality sectors.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

HOSAS 2026 served as a strategic
\nplatform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore emerging
\ntechnologies that are transforming the hospitality industry globally.
\nDiscussions focused on key developments including Artificial Intelligence (AI),
\nSmart Rooms and Internet of Things (IoT), contactless technologies, cloud-based
\nhotel systems, predictive analytics, operational automation and
\nsustainability-driven innovations.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the summit was the
\nofficial launch of the Nano S Self Check-In Kiosk, an innovative hospitality
\nsolution designed to help hotels improve operational efficiency while
\naddressing increasing manpower and operational cost challenges.<\/p>\n

The Nano S Self Check-In Kiosk
\nintroduces a compact and intelligent self-service solution that offers a
\npaperless and cashless guest experience. Its features include integrated
\npassport and identification document scanning, facial comparison technology for
\nenhanced security, deposit pre-authorisation capabilities and membership
\nsolutions that support guest engagement and loyalty programmes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The kiosk enables hotels to provide
\nfaster and more seamless guest experiences while optimising space utilisation
\nand reducing dependency on manual processes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking at the summit, Dr Sri Ganesh
\nMichiel, National President of MyBHA\u00ae, said that the launch of the Nano S Self
\nCheck-In Kiosk demonstrates how practical and scalable technologies can help
\nhotels embrace digital transformation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The future of hospitality is
\nbecoming smarter, smaller and more efficient. Technologies such as the Nano S
\nSelf Check-In Kiosk show how innovation can transform hotel operations,
\nparticularly for budget and business hotels that are looking to improve
\nefficiency while managing rising operating costs and manpower challenges.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Automation is no longer a luxury but an
\noperational necessity. Hotels must increasingly leverage technology to do more
\nwith less space, less manpower and less paperwork while continuing to enhance
\nservice quality and guest satisfaction.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr Sri Ganesh further emphasised that
\nwhile digital transformation presents enormous opportunities, many hotels
\ncontinue to face significant financial challenges that limit their ability to
\ninvest in technology.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“For almost fifteen years, room
\nrates across much of Malaysia have remained largely stagnant, while operating
\ncosts have increased substantially. Labour costs, utilities, maintenance
\nexpenses, compliance requirements and technology investments have all risen
\nconsiderably.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hotels need healthy profitability before
\nthey can meaningfully invest in automation and digital transformation.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

He added that delays in addressing these
\nstructural challenges would affect not only hotel operators but also the
\nbroader hospitality ecosystem.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“When hotels delay investments,
\ntechnology providers lose opportunities, innovation slows, digital solution
\nproviders face reduced market demand and the entire industry’s productivity is
\naffected. A financially healthy hotel industry is fundamental to building a
\ndigitally transformed and globally competitive hospitality sector.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dr Sri Ganesh also reiterated that fair
\ncompetition does not necessarily equate to healthy competition.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“A sustainable hospitality industry
\ncannot be built solely on price competition. Healthy competition is one that
\nallows businesses to innovate, reinvest, improve employee welfare and
\ncontinuously enhance guest experiences while remaining financially
\nsustainable.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Throughout the summit, participants had
\nthe opportunity to experience live demonstrations of hospitality technologies,
\nengage directly with industry experts and explore practical solutions that can
\nenhance productivity and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n

The successful organisation of HOSAS
\n2026 and the launch of the Nano S Self Check-In Kiosk signify the growing
\nmomentum towards automation and digital transformation within Malaysia’s
